“Wedding Flowers” says it all!
Or, should I say…SHOWS it all!
WEDDING FLOWERS, a book by Paula Pryke, is the quintessential reference when it comes to discovering the style, colors, and blooms of every brides’ dream.
Though this book has some step-by-step instructions throughout, I think it is most useful to brides to draw inspiration from the pictures. Also, since it has so many great pictures of popular bouquets, boutonnierres, ceremony and reception flowers, it is a great tool for brides to express the vision and style for their wedding flowers to their floral designer.
The author Paula Pryke is one of my favorite, published floral designers and I think all of her books are invaluable and an asset to any wedding resource bookshelf. “Pryke has over fifteen years of experience at creating beautiful weddings. Her work is featured regularly in all the leading magazines. Wedding Flowers builds on the success of her five previous titles: Simple Flowers; Festive Flowers; Flowers, Flowers; Flair with Flowers; and Living Color. She works as a floral consultant and has her own school for floral arrangement and design in London. Always a trendsetter, Paula Pryke continues to innovate…”

These jelly beans aren’t for eating!
Because they’re for decorating! You won’t see any more of those overly used and seen everywhere glass marbles in any of my event or wedding designs. Instead, I use small, very smooth, high-polished pieces of glass referred to as Jelly Bean Glass newly created by AMERICAN SPECIALTY GLASS. Jelly Bean Glass comes in a variety of colors and sizes and below I have highlighted a few colors…Raspberry, Strawberry, & Green Apple. Mmmmm…Great names of yummy flavors, but remember these Jelly Beans aren’t for eating!

To give some of you DIY brides a start with ideas on how you can use this product, below is an example of how I made use of AMERICAN SPECIALTY Jelly Bean Glass in one of my recent designs. As you can see, they were used to fill the bottoms of tall vases with candles and blue glass pearls as an accent. Too, they can be used in floral arrangements to replace those dreadful, overused marbles. You can even hide waterproof LED lights tucked within the glass to lend a magical glow to your designs. Information about the LED lights will be posted here on the wedding chat soon, so keep checking back!
